Roller Kappatos: Η στρατηγική για το 2025

Roller Kappatos now holds a leading position in the sector of household appliances and accessories.

Starting point: the historic Pitsos factory, where 54 years ago Theofilos Kappatos, as an employee, built up experience in maintaining the brand’s iconic appliances. From there began the journey of a company that has managed to enter most Greek households through the bases it manufactures for large electrical appliances.

This is Roller Kappatos, now led by the second generation, with the namesake Theofilos Kappatos at the helm.

Since its founding in 1971, in a small space in the Gyzi area, the Greek company Roller Kappatos, which specialises in manufacturing products that make everyday life easier in every home, has shown steady growth, with turnover increasing by 20% every year, as the company’s CEO, Theofilos Kappatos, said at a press meeting held on Monday, 17 February.

Roller Kappatos now holds a leading position in the sector of household appliances and accessories, offering innovative solutions through a wide product range, such as bases for cookers, fridges, washing machines and tumble dryers, covering the needs of the modern household and establishing the company in the market. Around 70% of its turnover comes from the 15 countries to which it exports its products.

Among the countries where the company has a presence are Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Singapore and Australia. Its export activity continues δυναμικά in 2025 as well, expanding into new markets such as Romania, Serbia, Latvia and Denmark.

As the CEO of Roller Kappatos noted, “although we are a historic Greek company with more than half a century of activity, our vision and goal at Roller Kappatos is, and will remain, to manufacture high-quality products designed with innovation, functionality and sustainability in mind. We evolve every day, keeping high on our agenda respect for the Environment, Society and People, and the responsibility to produce products that make everyday life easier and serve the needs of the modern home.”

In the meantime, Roller Kappatos continues to invest in new technologies and equipment, implementing over the last decade a dynamic investment plan exceeding €3 million. A significant part of these investments concerns the development of a state-of-the-art factory with cutting-edge machinery, which will serve as the springboard for the company’s evolution within the growth plan that has been set in motion through to 2030.

At the same time, the investment plan includes the development of new technologies such as robotic assembly and automated paint ovens, while a digital transformation is under way with the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning system, a Warehouse Management System, and a B2B platform. This investment strategy strengthens the company’s leading position in the market and ensures excellent service for partners and customers.

As for turnover, it is estimated at €4.5 million for 2024, with 80% of that coming from appliance base systems. For 2025, turnover is expected to rise by 20–25%.

A key issue for a Greek export company that uses metal sheets is the cost of raw materials, as well as energy. The company is investing in the green transition, having reduced carbon emissions by 30% and looking for saving solutions. However, using specific grades of steel and aluminium is a difficult equation in terms of cost, due to energy and geopolitical balances, at a time when it is also competing with Chinese companies.

“Years ago we relied on Greek steel; now it is imported by our suppliers and subject to tariffs. So compared to a Chinese competitor, we pay 40% more for steel, yet we still manage to be competitive,” Mr Kappatos stressed. Still, for both steel and aluminium the company works with Greek extrusion companies, building local value chains.
